About this service:
Catch up on past seasons of your favorite shows or discover your next favorite movie with Netflix on the Roku streaming devices, which are available to check out at the Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville. If you have a TV and wireless network in your home, just plug in the Roku to your TV, connect it to your wi-fi and start watching Netflix content. You can search for a specific title or browse through the categories on the Netflix home screen. Along with Netflix, the Roku has 25 other channels with some free content including news, fitness, science, and kids channels. See the full list above.
Roku streaming video devices go out for 3 weeks. You must be 18 or older with a CLD&J library card in good standing with less than $15.00 in fines and fees. There are no renewals or holds for the Roku streaming video devices.

Other than your home Wi-Fi password, do not enter any of your personal information into any of the channels, as it will not be cleared when you return it. Do not attempt to add or remove any channels.
Netflix content may not be appropriate for everyone, parental and personal discretion is advised.

STEM Equipment Collection: Discovery To Go!

Thanks to a $20,000 NYS Special Legislative Grant sponsored by (then) Assemblyman Sam Roberts, the Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville is circulating collections of kid-friendly science, math, and engineering equipment, materials, and resources, all packaged with easy, do-it-yourself activities and directions. The “Discovery To Go” (DTG) collection is designed to allow families to explore and play at home or in the library. The science collection includes items such as microscopes, a telescope, fossil and rock collections, weather stations, and medical models. The engineering collection includes kits and technology that encourage budding inventors to explore robotics, create sustainable energy models, and discover properties of light and sound with electronics. The collection’s math games and gadgets help clarify math functions for young children in a visual and tactile way. Books and media on relevant topics supplement the collection and support learning and teaching.
